Track Of The Day: Huxley - Let It Go (Eats Everything Refuse)

Eats Everything chomped his way to the top of many end-of-year charts at the conclusion of 2011. His debut production—appropriately named ”Entrance Song”—possessed a unique cross-genre appeal that infiltrated DJ sets of many stripes, making it one of the most recognizable tracks of the summer. The only real challenger for the ultimate bass-meets-house anthem of the year was fellow Bristolian Julio Bashmore with his equally ubiquitous ”Battle For Middle You,” and noone seems able to call a clear winner between the two, even now.

If the past few weeks are any indication, Eats Everything is on course to consume many more hands-in-the-air moments in 2012, having checked in with a Claude VonStroke collaboration and an excellent remix for We Have Band thus far. This new remix makes for quite the winter trifecta from him, and it’s sure to be the track of choice for many as we head towards the spring thaw. Hooking up with Hypercolour (who are on a deep-house hot streak of their own) and rising talent Huxley, Eats Everything packs his rework with all of the things that he does best: hungry basslines, soulful vocal hooks, hints of garage swing, uplifting synth chords, and pitch-perfect, dancefloor-focused tension and release.
